It has been a while since the last update on this blog, but work on RecipeCalc has continued. Here is a roundup of versions 1.9.3–1.9.6, released after our announcement about recipe importing.
RecipeCalc is an iPhone app that recalculates all your ingredients in the same ratio when you change the quantity of one ingredient. It is useful when you are a little short on an ingredient or want to use up what you have.
Import shared recipes from any screen
Version 1.9.4 improved recipe importing so you can receive a shared recipe regardless of which screen is open in the app.
When you find a recipe in a browser or another app, select RecipeCalc from the share menu to import it. This version also keeps your position in the recipe list after you delete a recipe.
Before saving an imported recipe, check the ingredient names and quantities. Some websites and apps may not import correctly.
Improvements to editing quantities
Version 1.9.3 improved the controls for editing the unit of the desired quantity and the confirmation behavior when editing an original quantity. It also fixed an issue where the screen could occasionally flicker and the input field could lose focus while you were entering a quantity.
Recipe importing from photos or the share menu is available up to three times a day. After reaching that limit, you can watch an ad to import additional recipes.
An option to hide banner ads for 24 hours
Version 1.9.5 added an option to hide banner ads for 24 hours after watching one full-screen ad.
Watching the ad gives you a limited period without banner ads. It does not permanently remove all ads.
Version 1.9.6 fixes an error when switching screens
Version 1.9.6 fixed an error that occurred when switching screens. Alongside new features, we are continuing to improve the small details of everyday use.
Adjust your usual recipes to the ingredients you have on hand. Whether you use RecipeCalc regularly or have not opened it in a while, give the updated version a try.
